We have a new season ~ "Sprinter"!

Yes! Sprinter.....Where Spring and Winter collide in a mixed up
weather world of 75 degrees in February!

where both hollys and azaleas bloom...at the same time

The grass is  green.....

The Holly bushes are blooming red.....

But oh, the fashion dilemmas....what to wear? linen or wool? tank tops or long johns? sunglasses or ear muffs? Not to mention the food problems as well....who wants chili or
 vegetable soup in Sprinter?
What do we eat? It doesn't seem right to be eating salad, snowballs and Popsicles yet...

No, Sprinter deserves its own fashions and its very own food....it is time to get creative people....
We have a new SEASON!!!!!! The retail stores and restaurants are gonna love this one!

Everything blooms in Sprinter ~ Camelia bushes, Japanese Magnolia trees, Roses, Impatients, Pansies, Hollys, Azaleas ~ all at one time....

Your kitchen door is always open to enjoy to enjoy the wonderful 70 degree air....
my cute little Maisy is very confused about this.  She is not used to this door being open, because in the summer it is too HOT, and in the Winter it is too COLD, but in SPRINTER, it is just right....ever the polite dog that she is....

she won't come in without an invitation!
She will only poke her head through the crack and wait for me to say...

"Come in Maisy!" (and let's go shave those paws of yours, so you will quit looking like the  "The Grinch!)

In Sprinter - we don't need coats! Now, this is fun as we always get to show off our cute clothes!  And look who came to visit this weekend from Philadelphia and got a taste of Sprinter...Aunt Julie and Maggie!  Miss Maggie is sporting a dress that I smocked 18 years ago....it has been through
Elizabeth, Sara, Ellen, and now Maggie!
Before I was a knitter ~ I was a smocker...and a prolific one with three girls to clothe! Now there are a lot of nieces that are still enjoying my creations!
It is so wonderful to see her in it!

She and Ellen caught up on the last "three months" of Maggie's busy life!

Here she is, doing the "Raspberry" and cracking all of us up!

Including herself! I think Julie and Maggie liked our new season! Unfortunately, it was a quick trip and they are now back in the north where Sprinter does not exist!

In Sprinter, we can study on the roof, as the sun sets, in short sleeves.....

And, last but not least, Sprinter is allowing us to grow all sorts of things that we don't usually grow at this time of year.  Today, I made my FIRST green smoothie and used real locally grown strawberries, locally grown kale (by my good friend Anne and owner of Fred), and fresh blueberries.

I have enrolled in the Whole Foods Kitchen Online Workshop course given by Heather on the "Beauty that Moves" blog which gave me  the courage to add kale to our smoothies today.......

Cheers to "Sprinter"!!!!
Bottoms Up!!!!
(It was yummy folks)

  1. I agree...smoothies with kale are quiet yummy! I love the thought of studying on the roof top. Did she crawl out a window? I like the thought of another season. I'm off to La. this weekend. I hope the weather is nice. Hugs! Bonnie

    1. It is their favorite spot to read and study....however, it does make my neighbors nervous! Probably not the safest thing in life to do...but they sure do love it...I was nervous just getting up there to take that photo! I am afraid of heights!

And I'm ready for a little break from the rain that we've had. Yes, we needed it, but I need a little sunshine too, so I can get out and enjoy all of my beautiful blooms too!!

  8. Beautiful photos, you are quite a photographer. Maggie is so cute, love the dress. No bright colors outdoor yet, still winter here, but who knows, we may have a sprinter also.
