Our weather is ~ incredible!
Yesterday Ellen and I walked downtown and we
both got a "treat". We visited her favorite
frozen custard/snowball stand and she got
a snowball "stuffed" with custard.
and me......
We finally have a real "CSA" in town!
I am so proud of my friends who grew the
"seeds" of an idea into the vegetables you
see in my bag! When time permits,
you will see a post about the whole
process as it is pretty cool; and
I was there to see a thought turn
into a reality.
My "treat"
The girl's favorite "frozen custard" store
Frozen custard is served at a higher temperature then ice cream. That is why it is so flavorful ~ your taste buds aren't frozen when you eat it. (Just a "fact for the day") Remember when you would get a bowl of ice cream and stir it until it was "soupy"? Same concept!
Rollerblading home while eating her snowball....
now that is talent, people! She didn't spill a drop!
Have wonderful weekend!
PPS - the thought to get ice-cream (well custard) came to me after I read this.....
You just broke your child today, congratulations
If you don't have time to do anything else today, click on this link and read it....
Powerful stuff!
PS - the girls tell me that the cute little creature in my flower (top of the blog) is not a lady bug. They assure me that it is a bee! I really thought it was a lady bug....now that I study it, I am not so sure.
What do you think?

I'm not sure I've ever tasted frozen custard. You've certainly gotten my curiosity up. I'll have to give it a try. Congrats on your local CSA. What a treat! So nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteHey there. Thanks for the very nice comment. And thank also for reading through some of my blog. I started about 1 year ago after getting my camera (Nikon D-90). I loved taking pictures and wanted to do something with them besides store them on my hard drive..hence my little house was born.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 lenses 18-200mm and a 50mm 1.8. I love my 50 mm but want to upgrade to the 1.4 before the holidays so I can shoot indoors with less light. I mostly use my zoom lens (200mm) one outside with the kids because they are all over the place and the 50mm likes for you to stand still.
I shoot on MANUAL and love it. I have learned so much by just playing around..sitting in the same spot taking 300 pictures of my flip flops while changing several different settings. I have learned most by asking people who take pictures...and by reading blogs of moms who have been doing this a lot longer. Pioneer Woman and Miz Booshay have some GREAT tips on picture taking...I got my start there. Scott Kelby books are awesome too.
I have no real fancy editing program. I store and crop my photos on Picassa. I can play a little bit there..but not enough. I hope to get Photoshop Lightroom soon...add it to my list!!
my e-mail is mommyofemily@hotmail.com if you have any more questions.
Good luck building your blog..it is so fun!
